Optimum nutrition gold standard whey glutamine

Is it required? No. In fact you can get along perfectly fine with no supplements. Whole food is actually superior for your diet. However, if you want to maximize your results I would recommend taking a high quality whey protein and amino acids. Take the protein 30-60 minutes prior to working out with some carbs like oatmeal. Also take it during the day as required to hit your macros. Sip on the BCAA during your workout along with 5g of creatine. As another user wrote, glutamine isn't worth much. And although whey protein contains bcaa's you will still benefit from supplementing with a bcaa powder.
